No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Jiu-jitsu without the kimono. Rash guards and shorts, faster pace, wrestling-based — the modern form of grappling.
What is No-Gi jiu-jitsu?
No-Gi jiu-jitsu is grappling without the traditional kimono. Practitioners wear rash guards and shorts. Without cloth grips, the game becomes faster, more wrestling-based, and focused on body control.
Why train No-Gi?
- Faster pace — more dynamic, more scrambling
- MMA transfer — no clothing grips in MMA
- Wrestling emphasis — takedowns become more important
- Modern submissions — leg locks and modern guard systems
Gi vs No-Gi
Both are legitimate. Many people train both. The gi emphasizes grips and positional control; No-Gi emphasizes speed and wrestling. At RBJJ, both are included in your membership.
