What to expect

What should I wear?

Comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in — a t-shirt and shorts or leggings. You don't need a gi for your first class. Remove jewelry and trim your nails.

What happens in class?

You'll join a beginner-friendly class. The coach will show you the basics, and you'll drill technique at your pace. No sparring on day one unless you want to.

Am I too out of shape?

No. Jiu-jitsu gets you in shape; you don't need to be in shape to start. We scale everything to your level.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself, water, and a positive attitude. We have everything else you need.

How long is the class?

Most adult classes run 60–90 minutes. Kids classes are 45 minutes.

Common questions

Before you book

Is the first class really free?
Yes. One free trial class. No card required, no obligation, no pressure to join.
When can I schedule my free trial class?
Free trial classes are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays (No-Gi).
Do I need experience?
No. Most of our members started as complete beginners. Our classes are built for day-one students.
What if I'm nervous?
That's normal. Everyone feels that way before their first class. The room is welcoming, the coaches are patient, and you won't be thrown into anything you're not ready for.
Can parents watch?
Yes. We have a viewing area and encourage parents to watch, especially in the first few weeks.
